We are following NHS guidance and not issuing any letters in relation to face coverings & masks as this would take time away from doctors who are providing direct patient care during this emergency period of the pandemic, we appreciate your understanding.

You can carry something that says you do not have to wear a face covering for medical reasons. However, this is a personal choice, and is not necessary in law - you should not routinely be required to produce any written evidence to justify the fact you are not wearing a face covering. If you would like to carry something, please visit the government link above which includes exemption badges for printing or for displaying on a smart phone.

Baby Immunisation Clinic during Coronavirus Pandemic

Please note that we are NOT currently holding a drop in and wait child immunisation clinic on a Wednesday morning.  Instead, please telephone reception to make an appointment, this is to ensure we keep numbers of patients in the waiting room to a minimum.

Contraceptive Implant Clinic

Dr Alex Graham runs a Contraceptive Implant Clinic at Arlington Road.  If you would like to discuss having an implant inserted, please make an appointment with Dr Graham in one of her normal surgery appointments.

Call Recording

Please note that all calls to and from the Practice are recorded.  Patients are protected by us having a record of our conversations with you, staff and other health workers are protected from potential abuse.  We also occasionally use recordings for staff training and quality control.

Repeat Prescription Ordering Service

You will need to create a log-in and password to use the Repeat Prescription Ordering Service on this website.  Once you have created this, the service is very easy to use.  The system will remember items you have ordered before enabling you to just select the items rather than having to type them out every month.  You can also select for us to send you an email reminder in a specified number of weeks to prevent you forgetting to order your next prescription.  This service is ideal for patients who do not wish to register for Patient Online Services or for people who request prescriptions for other patients on their behalf.

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or update your contact details.

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and what the practice offers are always heading in the same direction.

Did you know there are a range of services and trained health professional working closely with your GP that might be better suited to help you?

RPFThe next time you make an appointment at Arlington Road you may be asked some questions about the reason for your appointment.  Please don't be offended - it is simply so that we can make sure you see the person who is most suitable to help you.  This may mean directing you to the right clinician within the Surgery team or another service outside of the Practice.  Of course you do not have to share this information with receptionist but it would help us to help you and ensure you see the right person first.

Communication Needs

We want to ensure that you can read and understand the information we provide or sent you.

If you find it hard to read our letters or if you need someone to support you at appointments, please let us know.

  • We want to know if you need information in braille, large print or easy read.
  • We want to know if you need a British Sign Language interpreter or advocate.
  • We want to know if we can support you to lipread or use a hearing aid or communication tool.
  • We want to know if your first language is not English and you need an interpreter.

Please tell the receptionist if you need any help with communicating with the Practice and we will do our best to meet your needs.

Friends & Family Test

From the beginning of April 2015 we have been able to offer further Online Services in addition to those currently offered in the panel below. 

  • Prescription ordering that is linked directly to your patient record (we still continue to run our own website based repeat prescription ordering service).
  • Online Appointment Booking Service.
  • Online Summary Record Access (enabling you to view your medication, any known allergies and adverse reactions).

We carried out a review of the data available to us about Arlington Road Medical Practice on 7 January 2022. We have not found evidence that we need to carry out an inspection or reassess our rating at this stage.
