Retirement of Dr Lucy Thompson

Dr Lucy Thompson will be retiring from the practice at the end of March 2025 after 27 years as a partner.  She will be greatly missed by all the team here at the practice and her patients.  Dr Laura Cleveland, who has been worked at the practice as a locum, will be taking over her patient list in April 2025.   We wish her a long and happy retirement.

"It is with mixed feelings that I am announcing my retirement from the partnership at Lovemead Group Practice. I have been a partner here for 27 years and feel very fortunate to have enjoyed such a long and happy career at the practice.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to provide medical care to our patients and to have worked with such excellent colleagues. In recent years, my increasing management responsibilities for the practice and the wider Trowbridge Primary Care Network have taken me away from as much direct patient care. Whilst I have thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the development of new services, it is now time to pass this responsibility on to others.

I have complete confidence that the practice will continue to thrive under the capable hands of the remaining partners and staff who will, I am sure, continue to strive to provide excellent patient care.

Although I am retiring from the partnership, I am not ready to hang up my stethoscope and step away fully from medicine yet. I plan to keep working as a GP for the next few years".
