Appointment System from Monday, 15th July, 2024
We have reviewed our appointment system and the following changes will take effect from Monday, 15th July, 2024:
Minor illness triage: Please call the practice between 8.00AM and 12.00PM if you have a minor illness. Calls received after 12PM will be asked to call back at 8.00AM the follow day or to call 111 after 6PM if it cannot wait until then.
Minor illness includes things like coughs and colds, sore throats and urine infections. These can often be managed by your community pharmacy and advice is also available from NHS Inform website.
Minor illness calls will be dealt with by one of our Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
This will allow us to maximise the number of GP appointments available to book each day.
Medical emergencies will be dealt with throughout the day. If you feel your condition is life threatening you should dial 999.
GP appointments: you should call from 8AM for an on the day appointment. We will advertise on our Facebook page each day when we have reached capacity for our GP appointments that day.
We now have a limited number of GP bookable in advance appointments which will be offered in our extended hours surgeries on a Tuesday morning and Thursday evening.
All other appointment types: you should call after 10AM to book an appointment in advance for a Practice Nurse, Phlebotomist, Midwife, First Contact Physio etc.

23rd January 2023
EMIS have finally fixed the link between our server and Patient Access. We have been assured that patients who had logins for the system prior to it breaking in September should be able to use their original logins. Even if you have been told by Patient Access that you require a new PIN since September THAT IS NOT THE CASE as the links have been reinstated.
Should you want to register for Patient Access or if you have been told you need a new PIN after 23/01/23 please complete the registration form.
Patient Access Registration Form
The only service currently available through Patient Access is repeat prescribing. The appointment system is currently unavailable.
Please be aware that the only options on Patient Access Repeat prescribing are accept and reject. Please read any messages returned before duplicating requests.
The surgery would still recommend using the online prescription form accessible through the "Prescriptions" menu at the top of the page for repeat requests.

7th November 2022
Patient Access has not worked since we got a new server in September. We are waiting for an engineer from EMIS to fix this. We will not be issuing new PINs as they will not work. Please do not contact EMIS Patient Access support as they are still giving out the incorrect information that we need to issue new PINs despite being asked not to.
We will announce when Patient Access is working again

7th October 2021
If you request a prescription urgently we now to expect it to be collected from the surgery by the patient (or their representative) and we will not send it to a pharmacy. If you want it sent to a pharmacy please specify this carefully. This is because the variation in the times and frequencies that the pharmacies collect from us and also the time some pharmacies are taking to process prescriptions is causing us work locating and duplicating requests.
FLU
Flu vaccinations are being done by NHS Fife. If you are entitled to a vaccination you will receive a letter with a number to call to arrange an appointment. These are not being done at the surgery and we have no immunisation staff at the surgery to respond to enquiries regarding flu vaccinations.

Medical Education
Primrose Lane Medical Centre is a training practice offering training and experience in general practice to General Practice Specialist Trainees (fully qualified doctors undergoing training in General Practice). As part of their training they have to produce video evidence of a selection of their consultations. You will be asked when you book your appointment and also when you arrive at reception desk if you are willing to consent to your consultation being recorded. You will be asked to sign a consent form before and after your consultation. A recording will not be made of any consultation without your consent and if requested at any time during your consultation, the camera will be switched off. The recording is only shown to doctors concerned with GP training and all recordings are destroyed within 6-months.
ScotGEM Medical Students
The practice hosts ScotGEM Medical Students from St. Andrews University. You will be informed in advance if one of the medical students will be present during your consultation and the GP will request your permission for them to remain in the consulting room during your consultation
