Teaching and Training

Lochgilphead Medical Centre is a GP Training Practice, approved by NHS Education for Scotland. You may be asked to see or talk to a medical student, junior doctor or GP Registrar during your visit. They will always be directly supervised by one of the GP Partners. Your help in training the doctors of the future if greatly appreciated. Please direct any queries regarding teaching and training to the Practice Manager or the Educational Supervisor.

Veteran's Healthcare

Veterans Scotland Health & Wellbeing Group

Since Dr Andy Barlow joined us earlier this year following a career in the Army, he has identified that our records do not currently enable us to identify which of our patients have served in the Armed Forces.

We would like to ask you to let us know if you have served at any time in the Armed Forces. This will allow the practice to register as a Veteran's Friendly Practice with the Royal College of General Practitioners. This should allow greater support to be available to you if needed. Some military veterans, no matter when or where they served, may have health needs which are not immediately apparent, and this information may help us to help you at some point in the future. Please either email the surgery at lochgilphead.surgery@nhs.scot or call us on 01546 462001
